Toledo, Spain Day 1 in the ICU Scrubbing in! The main Cathedral in Toledo My hilltop city! Palace at Aranjuez, Spain Gardens at Aranjuez, Spain Hey guys!  So about a week ago I started my internship where I am shadowing doctors for the next 5 weeks IN SPAIN! After being here a week, I was able to get settled in and am able to give an update. There is a group of 10 of us from my university living in Toledo, Spain and working in the local hospital.  This city is beautiful and contains so much history that there are even buildings here that date back to the 1st century.  On Sunday, we arrived in Toledo and settled into our hotel since we would have a busy week ahead of us.  We are all stationed in different departments each week and this allows us to get an up close view of what it is like being in the healthcare industry.  This week I was in the ICU and was able to witness a few surgeries throughout the week.  I got a little nau...

Braided Bangs

Hey guys! I love braids and this is the new hairstyle that I have been wearing a lot recently to keep my bangs out of my face.  I start at my bangs and begin a french braid, and after i have a good amount of hair I finish it off as a normal braid.  I normally like to stop before I reach my ear and afterwards I pull the braid apart to make it look thicker.  Also, I like to add some loose waves with a curling iron for the hair left down.

Lagunas de Ruidera

Hey guys!  So on Wednesday we traveled to the Ruidera Lakes in Castile-La Mancha, Spain.  There are about 15 of these lagoons that vary in colors and are all interconnected through small canals.  We hiked first to the main waterfall, but it is so surrounded by nature that you can only see it from afar and cannot get too close to it.  Then we continued our hike until we came upon a bat cavern, so we put on our helmets and headlamps to head down under.  I couldn't see any bats, but it was interesting to see the layout of the cave and the beautiful crystals that formed in the ceiling.  Our visit was on a rainy day so we took cover in a restaurant for lunch and luckily it cleared up so we could go kayaking!  We kayaking around the lagoon and then had to drag our kayak through a small canal so that we could enter a new lagoon and swim around there.  The water was a clear blue and in some areas it was even turquoise, and it was p...
